Le Strida Live in Cairo 09 free download
This cd was recorded during the festival ElettroRumorismi Futuristi, in Cairo on April 2009.
ElettroRumorismi Futuristi
The year 2009 marks the 100th anniversary of the Futurist Avant-garde movement. As is well known, the founder of this movement was Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, born in Alexandria (Egypt) in 1876. One of the most important aspects of Futurism was its contribution in the sphere of music. The manifesto "Arte dei Rumori” [Art of Noises], written by the Futurist painter, Luigi Russolo, in 1913, set in train one of the most interesting chapters of a new musical vision. Massimo Croce, a member of the Italian group NetFuturista, proposes a project to celebrate the musical aspect of historic Futurism. Among the fundamental characteristics of the Futurist art movement was the exaltation of machines as a means through which the modern society of the future could be built. The artist, in collaboration with the students of the Don Bosco Technical and Professional Institute, will rebuild a prototype of the Intonarumori [Noise intoner]. The project also includes a working day in which the artist, Massimo Croce, will introduce the Futurist movement by creating the Art of Noise, starting with the "banal" noise of the city. In the evening, video projections and a concert will be held by sound-effects man Alfonso Santimone. The musicians Adham Hafez and Mahmoud Refaat, pioneers of electronic music under the influence of futuristic elements, and the singer Dina El-Wadidi play a very important role in whole event and Egyptian contemporary musical scene.

***Jude The Obscure***

"Jude the Obscure" was released in May 1989 and is the second solo release by T/W on M4TR and is seen as a natural progression from the first tape 'Hope’, which was released twelve months before. The songs on Jude are more inventive and the recording style more experimental e.g., the use of different speeds, machines, tape types with and without noise reduction, the use of microphones (different types in various different rooms)at one point the whole house became the studio, the bathroom the live room, the bedroom the dead room, etc. The most important thing about JTO is that these diverse factors combine together to create a whole product in which traditional songs of melody and musical structure combine with experimentation to compliment each other and the bitch is raw in places The use of instruments on JTO creates a bizarre effect, one minute a crazy AXEMAN guitar will disappear into a didgeridoo droning underneath a flute and eastern drum and the next a floating female vocal will be echoed by a telephone answer machine. The whole experience was a great adventure.
